Pottery Piece for 2010 RHS is featuring the Rapidan Dam on a  2 quart Pitcher. Call Lynn Lachmiller at 507-278-3535 to reserve your numbered piece.  Redwing pottery piece will be available sometime during summer of 2010. There are still some other past pieces of the RHS Redwing pottery available featuring various Rapidan businesses, so please hurry if you are interested.

Now that the Depot restoration has been mostly completed, our plans are to have the Depot open on Sunday afternoons from Memorial Day to Labor Day. However, for this to happen we need volunteers to step forward to fill these shifts at the Depot. It is a great way to meet people and talk about Rapidan! Call Jane Tarjeson if you are able to staff the depot for a day (or more).

Aluminum Cans collection on Memorial Day. A trailer will be parked by the depot for recycling your aluminum cans. Proceeds will be used to fund community events.

RHS is participating in Kwik Trip’s Milk Moola program. The special Milk Moola caps and bag tops may be dropped off at the Rapidan Depot in the plastic container on the Depot steps. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for the restoration of the Rapidan Depot and Caboose.

RHS Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M.(Winter months) and 7:30 P.M.(Summer months). Please note time change for summer months.

We have started planning for the Dam Centennial Celebration which is planned for Saturday, August 14, 2010. There will be music, pictorial displays, crafts, horseshoes, fishing contest, canoe ride of the Blue Earth, hog roast and much more. If you are interested in working on the committee please feel free to attend our planning meetings which will be held 6:00 p.m. before the regular RHS meetings at the Township Hall.

The Dam Store is now open daily until 8 P.M. during the summer months. Stop in for a burger and pie!
